The objective in Gossington was to undertake a topographical survey and to locate and map underground apparatus. First we did a visual walkover marking with spray-paint where the drains are and lampposts, anything we could see. We then used an Electromagnetic scan on all the pipes to traces the pipes location accurately. Then we use GPR (ground penetrating radar) to find all the cables, pipes and holes leading from the things we saw in the visual walkover and Electromagnetic scan. After we have marked the depth and location of everything we did a topographical survey which takes accurate measurements of everything on site and put it into a drawing in ACAD (shown below).
